A very good turn out at Hulihe'e Palace in spite of the "Hilo kine" weather. Most of the participants were from West Hawaii Plein Air Painters, but Kailua Village Artists had the most diversity with oil & watercolor painters as well as a print maker and stain glass artisan. The Paint-Out continues Saturday from 9a to 12p - we are hoping for some sun and shadows - and no rain.

Dear Richard,
This is sooooo cool! I love the blog and your recent work. I've been in New Zealand for the past month (just got back at 2 am last night) and very busy in run-up to the trip so have not been coming to WHPAP, but have hardly forgotten our great group. I was really excited to see you will be in the canoe area at Kawaihae next week and will try very hard to get there. i lived in Micronesia and collect Pacific books and know a bit about canoes of the Pacific and the history of sailing in outer islands of Yap/Chuuk where I once lived. hope to see you next week.
